Florence McClure Correctional Center (FMCC) is a women’s prison located at 4370 Smiley Road in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is operated by the Nevada Department of Corrections. The facility was opened in 1997 and was originally named Southern Nevada Women’s Correctional Facility before being renamed in 2007 in honor of Florence McClure, a prominent advocate for victims’ rights and co-founder of the first Nevada chapter of the National Organization for Women. FMCC is the only women’s prison in the state of Nevada and houses various custody levels, from minimum to maximum security. The facility provides a range of programs aimed at rehabilitation and education, including vocational training, substance abuse treatment, educational classes, and mental health services.
